European Ayurveda® Cures

The optimal cure preparation

How you can prepare yourself in the best way

We look forward to accompanying you on your way to becoming the best version of yourself. In order to intensify the positive effects on body, mind and soul, you may start your preparation for the cure. In this way you can do valuable preparatory work so that you can enter even more intensively into the experience of the cure. We recommend a preparation time of one to two weeks. During this time you can strengthen Agni (your digestive fire) and your metabolism. This will help to remove ama (waste products and residues) from your body and promote detoxification. Take time for yourself to prepare for an enjoyable and effective regimen. Be worth it.

Your diet

Your beverages

Make sure that you drink about 1.5 to 2 litres of fluid daily. This can be warm water, but also herbal and spiced teas. In the cold months from October to March, you can also enjoy a warm ginger water. However, make sure that you do not consume any more ginger after 3 pm. It has a stimulating effect and could disturb your sleep. If you have hot flushes or suffer from heartburn and high blood pressure, you should also avoid the spicy tuber. Drink plenty of warm water instead. It is best to boil your water for 10 to 15 minutes first and then drink it in sips throughout the day.

In general, you should avoid cold and carbonated drinks. Caffeinated drinks, such as coffee or black tea, should also be enjoyed with caution. During your preparation time, we strongly advise against alcohol.

If you want to do something especially good for yourself, then try a morning detox drink. We recommend hot water refined with the juice of half a lemon. When the water has reached a comfortabel drinking temperature you can add a teaspoon of wild honey. This will benefit the elimination of Ama. For feeling light.

Your food

Take the time to prepare wholesome and warm meals. Your body will thank you for it. Specifically, put an emphasis on high-quality grain products, potatoes, vegetables and legumes. However, whole grain products should be avoided during your preparation time. They are difficult to digest and can therefore delay the elimination of Ama. Prefer light forms of preparation such as steaming, boiling and low-fat frying. Because too greasy food or also fried and breaded foods stress your Agni.

To make food more digestible, we recommend spices such as ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric and pepper. High-quality olive oil and white meat may also be enjoyed in moderation. Fruit, salads and any raw vegetables should be eaten no more than once a day. Lunchtime is the best time for this. Also avoid heavy foods such as cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, cream, sweets and red meat. By avoiding these foods, you strengthen your Agni and create the optimal foundation for your successful cure.

Your evening ritual

Design your personal evening ritual to finish the day and go to sleep feeling content. Take 10 to 15 minutes to calm your mind and quieten your thoughts. What was particularly beautiful today? What are you grateful for? What are you proud of? Make a note of things you didn't get done today that prevent you from closing the day mentally. Be proud of yourself and consciously tell yourself that you have done all the tasks for today. You can be content with yourself. You have accomplished a lot. Go to bed with a smile.

your thoughts

You should be the most important person in your life. Put yourself, your health and your well-being first. Try to distance yourself from your stressful everyday life and decrease the time thinking about work, appointments and hectic. Maybe you can even turn off your smartphone? Divert your attention from the outside to the inside. Listen to yourself. What is your body telling you? What signals is it sending you? Be with yourself completely.

For you to think about

"When the gardener plants the seed for an apple tree, does he immediately expect to see apples? No, of course not. The gardener waters the seed, keeps an eye on it every day, and is happy to watch it grow. Treat yourself and your body in the same way. Take the time to nourish your body, mind and spirit with love every day and rejoice in your small successes."
