Panchakarma cure: Benefits of European Ayurveda® and the course of treatment

The Panchakarma cure is the queen of Ayurvedic cures. In a time characterized by stress, pressure to perform and uncertainty, this cure is a promising path to sustainable regeneration and new inner balance. It offers a process of slowing down, helps you to find yourself and cleanse your body, mind and soul. It supports you in becoming physically and mentally fit in the long term and is a proven means of preventing burnout thanks to its many positive effects.

The most important facts in brief: These are the benefits of a Panchakarma cure

Many people only know Ayurveda cures from India or Sri Lanka, the country of origin of Ayurveda. However, long long-distance journeys are also difficult for many people; the adjustment to a different climate, a new culture and Indian diet can be difficult.

These are the benefits of a European Ayurveda® Panchakarma cure in Tyrol:

  • Shorter journey
  • Known culture, food and language
  • All the benefits of the classic Ayurvedic cure, but adapted to European needs
  • Ayurvedic diet with regional, seasonal and European foods
  • More authenticity and quality thanks to specially adapted treatments

Advantages of a Panchakarma cure in Europe

So why not try an Ayurveda treatment in your home country? You save yourself the long flight, can speak your native language and don't have to adapt to a different climate and unfamiliar food. This gives you the advantage of being able to get started straight away without wasting any time.

With our European Ayurveda® concept, we have adapted precisely to these needs. We offer our guests a cure that includes all the benefits of a classic Ayurvedic cure, but adapted to the needs of Europeans.

Power place in the Panchakarma cure at Sonnhof

The European Ayurveda® concept is reflected in all the pillars of our cures. Our massages and massage techniques are adapted to the problems and habits of Europeans. We use oils that also contain Ayurvedic herbs that grow in Europe.

We also offer an enjoyable mix of Ayurvedic nutrition and European food. Some of the products we use are even grown on our own Ayurveda farm, the Lindhof, so that we can fully guarantee the quality of our food.

Of course, the European Ayurveda® concept is also reflected in the consultations with our Indian Ayurveda specialists. Our Ayurveda specialists know exactly what problems our guests bring with them and understand how they can support you with both physical and emotional or stress-related problems.

The lifestyle and living conditions of Europeans are often different from those of Indian people, which is why a cure in Europe can be offered to Europeans with more authenticity and quality .

Procedure of a Panchakarma cure

A Panchakarma cure can be divided into three different phases.

Part 1 - Preparatory phase/pre-detoxification

During this part of the cure, the aim is to dissolve all waste products (AMA - uncooked). This is done by ingesting ghee, oil massages and exfoliation at the beginning of the treatment.

Oils in preparation for the Panchakarma cure

This part of the cure is accompanied by a light Ayurvedic, vegetarian and/or vegan diet tailored to the doshas.

Part 2 - Draining/cleansing phase

Now all the waste products that have been released and accumulated in the digestive system are removed by a special laxative day. A laxative cocktail will help you with this.

Another cleansing ritual is the nasya (nose treatment). It is also part of the Pancha Karma treatment, but is not performed on all guests. Nasal rinsing cleanses the entire frontal sinus and head area. The nasya is also said to clear the mind and purify thoughts.

Part 3 - Build-up phase

The build-up phase is just as important as the cleansing rituals. It plays a key role in restoring the metabolism to an optimal state, strengthening body tissue and building up the immune system. During the rebuilding phase, you can enjoy wonderful treatments tailored to each individual guest and continue to enjoy Ayurvedic light food.

The build-up phase can be extended and intensified by anyone at home. The extension is highly recommended in order to guarantee optimal treatment success.

Ayurvedic fasting

Ayurvedic fasting: instructions, rules and recipes

There are fasting periods in almost every naturopathic teaching. This involves deliberately abstaining from certain foods and stimulants for a limited period of time. With Ayurvedic fasting, the body is naturally freed from waste products, detoxified and cleansed. This gives it new vitality and lightness.
